Privacy
This page describes what this site actually does. It is short because the site does very little.
What this site collects
Nothing. The Small Operator is a set of static HTML pages and one stylesheet. There is no analytics of any kind, no tracking pixels, no advertising, no cookies set by this publication, no forms, no comments, no accounts, no newsletter signup, no embedded video or social media, and no fonts or scripts loaded from anywhere else. There is no JavaScript on any page.
Because none of that exists, there is nothing for this publication to store about you, and no profile of your reading to build.
What happens anyway
It would be misleading to stop there. Serving a web page is not an anonymous act, and two things happen that are outside this publication's control:
- The hosting provider processes technical request data. Like effectively all web hosts, it receives and may log information such as your IP address, the page requested, the time, and your browser's user-agent string. That is ordinary server operation, it happens before this publication sees anything, and it is governed by the host's own practices rather than this page.
- Ordinary internet infrastructure sees the request. Your network provider, DNS resolver, and any intermediaries handle the traffic in the normal way.
No attempt is made to obtain, aggregate, or analyse any of that data, and none of it is combined with anything else or passed to a third party by this publication.
Links to other sites
Articles link to vendors' own pricing pages and documentation. Following one takes you to a site with its own practices, which are not covered by this page. No link on this site currently carries tracking or affiliate parameters. If affiliate links are added in future, that will be disclosed in the affected articles and on the affiliate disclosure section of the about page.
Changes
If the site ever gains something that does collect data — analytics, a newsletter signup, a contact form — this page gets updated before that goes live, not afterwards.
Questions
This publication does not have a public contact address yet, so nothing reaches it by email either. When one is added, it will be listed here and on the about page, and this page will say what happens to messages sent to it.
